MUSEUM EXHIBIT MODEL, MT ST HELENS

Museum Exhibit Models

At Archetype3D, we had the privilege of undertaking a remarkable project for the Yakima Valley Museum in Washington state. Our team meticulously crafted a highly detailed and accurate topography model that showcases the awe-inspiring Mount St. Helens and its surrounding area. Using precise elevation data, we produced a 3D file and utilized a CNC machine to cut the topography, ensuring an exceptional level of accuracy.

To add a captivating visual touch, the grayscale effect was achieved through laser etching, utilizing satellite imagery. This technique brings the model to life, highlighting the intricate details of the landscape and creating a visually stunning representation.

The Yakima Valley Museum is widely recognized for its commitment to excellence and preservation. Accredited by the American Alliance of Museums, it stands as one of only three museums in Eastern Washington to achieve this prestigious recognition. With a vast exhibition space spanning 65,000 square feet, the Yakima Valley Museum is one of the largest cultural history museums in the state.

At the Yakima Valley Museum, local stories are conserved and shared to inspire the community, provide valuable lessons from the past, celebrate the richness of the present, and guide the future. Our topography model of Mount St. Helens and the surrounding area perfectly aligns with the museum’s mission, allowing visitors to engage with the natural wonders of Washington state and gain a deeper understanding of the region’s history and geology.
